The film focuses on John Wayne’s character, "Wyatt," who experienced a traumatic childhood when his parents were murdered and his brother, "Jim" (played by Frank McGlynn Jnr.), was taken. Years later, they meet again while traveling on a wagon train. It turns out the brother has associated with the people responsible for their family’s deaths and is now after valuables! Sheila Bromley appears as a romantic interest for both men, which leads to some gun-related romantic complications as the story follows a predictable plotline. What sets this apart is the inclusion of musical numbers; Wayne's group frequently breaks into song before or after performing acts of kindness. The singing isn’t overly frequent, and that’s probably a good thing because it significantly disrupts the film's momentum like commercial interruptions would. There are some enjoyable fight scenes, but ultimately this movie is really only for those who appreciate John Wayne; otherwise, it’s easily disposable entertainment.
