Austin Trevor portrays "Hercule Poirot" with a Belgian accent as he’s brought in to look into the death by stabbing of wealthy Lord Edgware (CV France). The story quickly reveals his wife (Jane Carr) was attempting to get a divorce so she could marry the "Duke of Merton" (Esme Percy)—a possible reason for the crime? He and "Inspector Japp" (John Turnbull) from Scotland Yard have to figure it out. It progresses at a good pace, staying reasonably true to Agatha Christie’s narrative. While Austin Trevor's interpretation requires some adjustment and the production feels very much like a stage play, I found it to be an enjoyable, low-cost murder mystery with commendable performances.
