The film tells a familiar story of a man in his thirties who works as a swimming instructor; following a divorce, he meets a younger person and they set off on a path toward understanding themselves better. The narrative follows expected patterns, dealing with personal struggles alongside romantic interests, envy, and difficulties within families. These issues put pressure on the younger character while he tries to experience and embrace love, and also affect the older man as he navigates his relationship with his teenage daughter. While the conclusion feels somewhat unsatisfactory, it does feel true to the story's nature. The movie remains engaging thanks to solid acting from Joe Nakamura and Yohdi Kondo, though it doesn’t quite manage to be deeply insightful.
