An older woman finds herself at her house in Iran, observing television programs while puzzling over the lack of telephone service. Unbeknownst to her, the “Amir” she cherishes has been involved in the demonstrations shown on the news. Her son, "Babak," and his wife, "Nahid," are aware of this situation and must be cautious around her, as she repeatedly believes she hears his voice coming from outside. This is a fairly impactful brief story that feels cut short, yet it clearly illustrates the difficulty of existing in a place where communication lines can be abruptly severed, limiting access to information and creating anxiety and concern. I doubt an apple will make much difference.
