This enjoyable mystery shares some qualities with the Charlie Chan series. Peter Lorre, sporting his characteristic round glasses, portrays the detective tasked with looking into the poisoning of a boxer during a match. Numerous potential culprits emerge, presenting a challenge for “Mr. Moto.” It’s an entertaining film, lacking any real danger or significant suspense—simply a solid performance from the lead actor, backed by a supporting cast of recognizable faces who either assist or hinder him, all within a reasonably well-made production with competent writing that carries it through 75 minutes. The plot isn't particularly demanding, but it’s worth seeing.
