It was intriguing to witness a narrative centered on the experiences of Jewish Danes during World War II and to observe a young Jane Seymour in her initial significant film appearance; however, it has to be considered among the least engaging war dramas ever made. The filmmaking felt constrained by its static camera work, while the actors delivered their lines primarily in standard English, without any Danish inflection. Furthermore, the plot unfolds with an almost unreal perfection for the central characters, leaving little to spark enthusiasm. Even the musical accompaniment seems rather lackluster. Considering that a violin maker is among the key figures, one might have anticipated his craft would be woven into the score, but it isn't. Given the wealth of exceptional World War II films available, this one is difficult to suggest viewing. It’s best skipped unless you happen to be Danish or a devoted admirer of Jane Seymour.
