It’s disappointing that the film doesn’t live up to what it could have been. The initial comedic moments are promising as "Capt. Norton" (Nigel Patrick) and the stylish "Humpy Miller" (David Tomlinson) first encounter each other on a flight to Switzerland. Their interactions don't go smoothly, and things deteriorate further when they realize they’re staying at the same resort—and that they both want to be with "Mary" (Jill Day). Then, unexpectedly, they both get chickenpox and are cared for by nanny "Cartwright" (Kathleen Harrison), who is clearly the best part of the movie. What follows is a succession of situations that feel forced and artificial, as the men compete against each other, but the comedy just sort of disappears. It feels like everyone involved was pushing too hard—the writers, the director, even the actors—attempting to transform something stagey into a successful film. Harrison’s performance does help somewhat, and it's not an unpleasant way to spend some time, but I found that it relied on stereotypes more than I liked.
