Cornel Wilde, playing "Campbell," doesn’t seem to be at his peak in this jungle adventure. The story follows him as he journeys to Eastern Africa to look into what happened to his brother. Things improve when he meets "Hoyt" (Leo Genn) and Hoyt's neice "Ann" (Donna Reed). Hoyt is helpful, making sure Campbell has Bloody Marys to start the day, and Ann quickly makes an impression. It turns out that his brother may have run into trouble with a dangerous group called the "Leopard Men," so he finds himself dealing with local distrust and beliefs while trying to discover what really occurred. The film touches on the Mau Mau rebellion as a possible factor in the death, along with rumors of a mine filled with valuable resources. It's an acceptable movie overall, but Wilde seems unenthusiastic, Genn doesn’t quite convince, and Reed has little opportunity to make a mark. A young Christopher Lee appears, and Eddie Calvert provides some trumpet music alongside some attractive scenery and standard shots of wildlife.
