The animation's distinctive style, with its delicate, almost see-through sketch lines, was something I appreciated greatly. It centers on three friends who move to Liverpool for their studies. They share a building with an upstairs neighbor named “Gibbo,” and initially, everyone enjoys the excitement of student life. However, when rent is due, "Shirley" finds himself unable to pay. His friends offer to cover his portion, but only if he helps out around the house. Predictably, things don’t go as planned, and he soon returns to drinking, prompting his companions to retaliate with increasingly unpleasant pranks. Gibbo proves resilient, but even he reaches a breaking point—leading the group to consider the value of their decade-long friendship and Gibbo's place within it. While there’s a lot of playful antics throughout, some deeper themes emerge as values change and loyalties are challenged. The artwork also contains some lovely touches – does anyone recall “vin du table”? The story moves along quickly, is amusing, and even has moments that feel surprisingly touching in a very male way, making it a worthwhile 15-minute watch, I think.
