Mohammad Asghar shares a final family home in Karachi with his mother, Bibi. Following the loss of his father and his brother’s move away, Asghar finds himself responsible for caring for his elderly mother, who is unwilling to relinquish memories of earlier times. Asghar's spouse, Nazia, has departed, claiming she’s pursuing a doctorate in London; however, her real reason is to avoid the stifling dynamic between Asghar and Bibi. Through emails to Nazia, Asghar expresses his struggles and his desire to have his teenage son join them in London so they can reunite as a family. He feels obligated to care for his mother and faces mounting financial difficulties while trying to preserve their ancestral home. The movie features several characters connected to the house, all affected by the conflicts within it—primarily those stemming from Bibi’s condition, described as dementia. Asghar's diagnosis of an illness requiring surgery pushes him to a point where he makes hasty choices that lead to an unexpected resolution.
