Anyone who enjoys slasher or horror movies really ought to watch this film. Marion, played by Janet Leigh, and her boyfriend Sam, portrayed by John Gavin, are hoping to be together. Sam, who’s divorced and doesn't have much money, believes he can’t offer her a good life. Driven by desperation, Marion sees a chance to take $40,000. She runs from Arizona toward California, where she finds herself at the Bates Motel and meets Norman Bates, played by Anthony Perkins. The acting is excellent, with Perkins delivering an unsettling performance that feels worthy of an Academy Award. The visuals and music are also outstanding. Even now, after 65 years, the well-known shower scene remains very powerful. If I had to find something wrong, it would be the final scene where the viewers understand everything that's been happening. Hitchcock was very particular about this scene, and I thought it made things feel a bit strange. But that’s just me being picky; it’s truly a masterpiece. 10/10
