Among all the films from this director known for creating suspense, this one stands out as my absolute favorite. This psychological horror is often recognized as the initial example of the slasher genre. With strong performances by Anthony Perkins and Janet Leigh, alongside Bernard Herrmann’s remarkable score that builds tension consistently, it's difficult to deny its status as the ultimate thriller. It seems only Alfred Hitchcock could manage to make a movie that’s both so enjoyable and so frightening simultaneously. The ending still stays with me in a disturbing way.
