The initial scenes are really good, showcasing a tense and lively relationship between Laura and Tyler – though definitely driven by pleasure-seeking and drinking. However, things lose energy once a romantic connection forms between them, especially after Tyler’s sister Jean intentionally becomes pregnant; the film then progresses at an incredibly slow rate, losing that early spark. What's left feels like a lifeless record of some careless and self-centered Dublin intellectuals, and by the end, I honestly couldn't have felt less invested.
