Matthew Jaeger portrays "Guy," who can be found on a park bench pondering Plato when Robert Mammana as "Doug," a man with rough edges, interrupts him, having been told it's a spot for casual encounters. At first, "Guy" isn’t receptive, but a discussion begins that leads to a connection between the two men and prompts them to question their views on gay and straight identities, and what love truly entails. I enjoyed this film despite its very structured script—there's even a line about how stale something appears. The photography is dark, giving the impression it was filmed with just one camera and pieced together roughly, relying heavily on good intentions, and the presentation can feel stiff initially. However, once the story gains momentum, there’s a clear and uncomplicated connection between "Guy" and “Doug” that functions effectively within this theatrical setting using multiple sets on a single stage. Both actors deliver sensitive performances with moments of humor, and the dialogue examines attraction and stereotypes in an observational way, which prevents it from feeling rigid. The conclusion is somewhat foreseeable—even attempts to lure a cat with vegetarian tuna fail—but ultimately demonstrates love’s victory over most societal rules, culminating in an unusual interpretation of "Sleeping Beauty."
