Yet another movie about boxing centered on someone’s true story. It isn’t really the kind of sports film with exciting action sequences that people might expect. The focus is more on underground fighting, which feels less conventional. Consequently, it doesn't unfold as a traditional heroic narrative. Lenny, who was raised without parents and had an abusive stepfather, became hardened. His aggressive nature helped him win barehanded street fights and, facing poverty, he began to try his hand at underground boxing, leading to significant changes in his life. Biographical films often captivate because they portray accomplishments that were difficult to achieve, which can be inspiring for viewers. This one didn’t quite follow suit, although it did have some positive aspects. The plot was acceptable, but the acting really bothered me; that's primarily why I think of it as mediocre. Perhaps it accurately portrays Lenny’s character, but from a cinematic perspective, it falls short. A different group of actors might have produced something better. Its value lies solely in being based on a true story; otherwise, nothing else about it quite worked. _6/10_
