It seems to me this could have been stronger if Monty Tully had put more effort into casting a more appealing actor as the central figure. Instead, we’re stuck with Terence Landon in the lead, who isn't particularly memorable. He plays someone involved in an attack on a bus transporting one of their leaders, "Bart" (Tom Bowman). The attackers then imprison the remaining passengers and prison officers inside a barn they say is saturated with paraffin, planning to flee while leaving everyone trapped. Anyone attempting to leave will face dire consequences. Simultaneously, police discover the body of someone who should already be incarcerated, and after a brief inquiry, determine that the bus never reached its intended stop. They must locate it before a fire destroys everyone – and it’s Guy Fawkes' night! The narrative attempts to balance the police investigation with the increasingly dramatic actions unfolding inside the barn (depicting prisoners who have been mistreated, etc.), but this results in excessive dialogue and surprisingly little suspense, as the story adheres rigidly to predictable conventions. To its credit, a cast of familiar British actors brings some personality and charm to the proceedings, and Jennifer Jayne ("Nita") fulfills her limited role adequately. Nevertheless, it remains a standard, unremarkable afternoon movie that lasts seventy-five minutes but is ultimately forgettable.
