This enjoyable film finds our private eye (played by Tom Conway) pulled into an investigation after a killing occurs at a Hollywood movie studio. For roughly an hour, viewers are shown glimpses of what goes on behind the scenes—photographs from the set, scantily clad dancers, and an increasingly frustrated producer, John Abbott. The plot involves a supposed curse linked to a Maharajah's ring. Will this production fail completely? It lacks a director and seems destined to become a burden. There’s a discernible narrative unfolding, featuring several plausible suspects and some insight into the filmmaking process itself, leading up to an unsurprising resolution that culminates in a lively pursuit across the studio backlot and a large Super Trouper display. It makes for perfectly acceptable viewing during an afternoon. The cabbie "Billie," portrayed by Veda Ann Borg, is particularly memorable and manages to outshine everyone else.
