This submarine mission to hunt down the German battleship "Brandenburg" makes for an exciting wartime story. The fact that it was produced during the conflict itself really adds something special, creating a sense of genuine suspense as Eric Portman and John Mills lead the way in what is certainly a patriotic film. It incorporates elements like a risky attack on fuel supplies, a gripping pursuit, and acknowledges the difficulties experienced by those waiting at home; ultimately delivering a well-constructed and believable account of life aboard a submarine.
