I watched a newly colorized version not long ago, and it turned out to be a pretty pleasant experience featuring John Wayne ("Tom") alongside his energetic and reliable companion "Gabby" Hayes. The narrative follows a familiar pattern – Duke’s father meets an untimely end early in his life, and he later crosses paths with the perpetrator by joining the gang itself. This time around, "Gentry" (Lloyd Whitlock) is attempting to drive old man "Winters" (Lafe McKee) off his land, but fortunately for Winters, Wayne arrives to stop this scheme. He also finds himself drawn to "Fay" (Virginia Faire), Winters’ lovely daughter. There's a good amount of action squeezed into just under an hour, and the ending, which I felt was not very strong, manages to be acceptable enough. It’s one among many like it, but still worthwhile for those who appreciate Wayne’s films.
