Jones delivers a solid performance as an 18-year-old Trinidadian who develops a friendship with a wealthy man in his community, who then becomes captivated by him. The narrative unfolds slowly, and truthfully, it doesn’t progress significantly before reaching a disappointing conclusion. While the possibility of exploring the dynamic between the two men—which appears to be somewhat mutual—is not fully realized, Jones's acting provides a sense of believability that helps sustain the film, which clearly operated with very limited resources. The movie also offers glimpses of the islands’ beauty and its inhabitants. This project suggests promise for both the actor and director Maria Govan; it represents an encouraging beginning.
