This installment in the "Moto" series might not be its most important, though Peter Lorre manages to find some enjoyment as the detective. He’s supposedly investigating an archaeological site within the small nation of Tong Moi. The situation becomes strange when Victoria Mason—a spirited Rochelle Hudson—deliberately causes her aircraft to crash nearby while in flight, before being introduced to the local rajah, Ali (J. Edward Bromberg), who develops a clear fondness for her. There’s some tension from the area's high priest, Bokor (George Regas), and it doesn’t take long to realize that he and his mentor are scheming to overthrow the government. Similar to what happened with the Parthenon by the Venetians, these revolutionaries are utilizing an ancient temple—featuring hidden passages and unsettling sculptures—to hide their weapons. An American newsreel team is also present in the area. They appear to be there for comic relief, but the tone of everything is so frivolous that they’re really not needed; truthfully, they come across as somewhat irritating. The conversations are a bit awkward, however Lorre does his best and Bromberg provides some amusement, and the finale has plenty of action. It's nothing exceptional, but it isn't terrible either.
