It proved to be an entertaining experience for my family as they worked to stop a scheme involving confidential government documents intended for foreign powers. Charlie Chan receives help from Mantan Morland and his youngest child, "Tommy" (played by Benson Fong). With such a small cast—no more than six actors appear—the outcome feels predictable, yet the film moves along briskly, presenting an enjoyable detective story with solid acting throughout, including some genuinely amusing moments thanks to Ben Carter.
