Hidden Homicide, under Tony Young’s direction and with a screenplay by Young and Bill Luckwell based on Paul Capon's "Murder at Shinglestrand," includes performances from Griffith Jones, James Kenney, and Patricia Laffan. The film has music composed by Otto Ferrari and cinematography by Ernest Palmer. The story concerns an author who discovers a weapon in his possession and a deceased family member close at hand—and the question of whether he was responsible for the death. Honestly, it's difficult to muster any enthusiasm after experiencing this exceptionally slow-moving British crime film. The plot offers barely enough substance for a thirty-minute installment of an inexpensive private detective series; even in that format, however, the flaws in the narrative and the unsteady direction would likely fail to engage viewers with any degree of intelligence. It also boasts one of the most grating musical scores from the 1950s imaginable. The film earns a rating of 2/10.
