The story unfolds within a simple dwelling constructed from reeds, set against a backdrop of conflict and starvation, centering on two women: one anticipating her son's return, the other awaiting her husband. Initially, it feels much like countless other dramas. But the narrative takes a turn when a friend of the man of the house arrives from the war to deliver news of his death, particularly as the recently widowed young woman starts spending time with this returning soldier.
