'Agni' from 2014 represents what’s possible with commercial Bangladeshi films, especially when it comes to action thrillers. The production values—the action, drama, cinematography, music, and score—are remarkable. It feels like a significant step forward for the industry. The storyline moves quickly and avoids unnecessary scenes. While there were moments where the plot felt similar to the 2011 film "Colombiana," concerning a young woman training to avenge her parents' deaths, the way it was presented on screen was skillfully done and brought audiences back to Bangladeshi cinemas after quite some time. Credit is due to everyone involved in making "Agni." The title track, "Ami Agni," was a rock song that fit perfectly with the action genre. It would be great to see more movies like this coming out of Bangladesh.
