Raiba Devkule, played by Makrand Anaspure, holds down a job at a bank while sharing a home with his mother (Usha Nadkarni) and grandmother (Chitra Navathe). When he mentions wanting to marry a coworker, his mother informs him of an earlier betrothal, explaining that she must now fulfill her deceased husband’s wish: to marry Raiba to the daughter of his best friend (Trupti Bhoir). Despite never having met her, Raiba reluctantly agrees. With all preparations underway, they travel to the village where the wedding is scheduled. As things progress, Raiba asks if he can at least get a glimpse of his bride before the ceremony, but is told that doing so would be considered unlucky. His mother and grandmother are permitted to see her beforehand, and are visibly taken aback by the appearance of Nazuka, a girl who is considerably overweight. Due to the longstanding commitment, they remain silent. When Raiba finally sees his bride during the wedding itself, he’s rendered speechless. He goes through with the marriage but refuses to treat her as his wife. Makrand Anaspure delivers a familiar performance. Usha Nadkarni and Chitra Navathe are adequate in their parts, however Trupti Bhoir is truly the film's anchor. For the role of Nazuka, a young woman weighing 250 kgs, Trupti, who normally weighs 57 kilos, spent many hours in the makeup chair as Anil Premgirikar applied prosthetic enhancements to her physique. This marks the first Marathi film with an approximate budget of five crore and featuring a leading actress utilizing prosthetics to portray obesity and unattractiveness. Despite some shortcomings, these issues are easily overlooked given the commendable effort that went into producing such a movie. The music, dance sequences, and songs are passable. There are enjoyable parts throughout and it’s likely to appeal to a wide audience.
