It’s precisely the sort of unusual, wandering story that Jason Schwartzman felt like he was meant to star in. The film follows a man who discovers his deceased father had several half-siblings living in China, and it's as strange and meandering as that premise suggests. There are moments when the narrative feels disjointed, and some viewers may find the pacing slow or the humor peculiar. However, those willing to embrace its eccentricities will likely appreciate the film’s unique atmosphere and Schwartzman’s committed performance. The supporting cast is also quite good, contributing to the overall sense of oddness that permeates the entire production.
