The film felt disjointed, struggling to adequately address several complex themes at once. A man is murdered while seeking encounters in a park, and the ensuing inquiry attempts to confront prejudice—related to race, gender, and sexual orientation—within both the town and law enforcement. There are moments suggesting romantic connections, both chaste and physical, between characters; however, these relationships lack clarity and the resulting tension feels contrived. The acting felt awkward, as did the writing itself. Ultimately, it was too muddled for me to grasp what it was trying to convey.
