It’s a silly adventure that demands you put aside any sense of logic to appreciate it. My younger self, around eight years old, would have probably been delighted by this, if he hadn’t noticed the animal specialists constantly calling the ape a monkey. Surprisingly, the most clever character in this odd film is the person wearing the ape costume. Even with its bizarre combination of bad qualities and silliness, I felt compelled to finish watching it. It's unlikely I will revisit it anytime soon.
