I really liked it! I streamed it in 1080p from Herotalkies.com. The way they presented S J Suryah as a rising musical talent felt over the top. Sulagna looked beautiful, but I thought the romantic moments were a little too explicit for most Indian viewers—though I did enjoy them. ;) Sathyaraj was excellent in his role as the villain; he really stood out. Apparently, theaters and many other sites are showing a version that’s been trimmed by 15 to 20 minutes. A friend of mine from Madurai mentioned this edited cut, and it seems like part of the central plot twist has been removed. Luckily, the site I used had the complete, uncut film; finding it wasn't easy while living in a Stanford dorm. :D The music is genuinely interesting overall. Perhaps because I didn’t have high hopes for S J Suryah, I was pleasantly surprised. Regardless, this movie is worth seeing. You can understand what’s going on even without subtitles—the acting is so good that everything's pretty clear. I would rate it 4 out of 5, which is saying something for an S J Suryah film. Considering he hasn't been around for nearly ten years, this one is a success.
