The film *Never a Dull Moment* is something you can find worthwhile, despite its unrealized potential. Dick Van Dyke delivers a strong performance as Jack Albany. The movie isn’t without problems, but those issues aren’t his fault; in fact, he's largely what prevents it from being truly bad, along with Edward G. Robinson playing Leo. The initial idea is agreeable, however the execution diminishes the film for me. It leans toward silliness rather than seriousness, which I think hurts its impact. I believe a more straightforward telling of the story would have been considerably better—still funny, but with a greater sense of gravity. It does feel a little slow-moving towards the conclusion, but overall it’s something I appreciate.
