The film "Ghost" tries to blend different kinds of storytelling, but most of these attempts don't really pay off. The humor falls flat and doesn’t elicit much amusement, so the movie has to depend heavily on the romantic elements instead. It’s comforting for those who have experienced loss to think that their loved ones are still looking after them with affection, and this film appeals to that feeling, aided significantly by The Righteous Brothers' wonderful rendition of "Unchained Melody" in the score. That song alone might be enough to satisfy viewers who are easily moved by romance, while others will find it a fairly straightforward movie experience lessened by some unexpectedly weak special effects.
