_**A Tale of Two Sororities with telekinesis and a dab of the occult**_ Two sisters, one considered lovely and well-liked while the other is adopted and keeps to herself (played by Morgan Brittany and Kay Lenz), begin their college careers in Southern California. One sister finds acceptance into an exclusive sorority, whereas the other aligns herself with a group of misfits. Chaos follows. The film also features Morgan Fairchild, Shelley Winters, Tony Bill, and Robert Hays. "The Initiation of Sarah" (1978) feels like a TV production inspired by “Carrie” (1976), blended with elements of "Satan’s School for Girls" (1973). Although it doesn't quite reach the heights of “Carrie,” I would say that it is better than "Satan’s School for Girls," mainly because the story carries more dramatic substance, and it boasts a cast with recognizable names—this was prior to Fairchild and Brittany becoming major stars. A remake appeared in 2006, bringing Morgan Fairchild back as Mrs. Goodwin, the sisters' mother. The film has a running time of 1 hour, 36 minutes, and filming took place at S. Lorraine Blvd, Los Angeles (the PED sorority house), and California Institute of Technology, Pasadena. GRADE: B
