Edgar Kennedy intended to head out for a round of golf until his wife requested use of the car. He figured he’d take a taxi instead, though the driver had a complicated history – once a golfing buddy until his life became entangled in a romantic dispute and now he works as a cabbie. Uneasy about the situation, Kennedy retraced his steps to discover why his wife (Florence Lake) needed the vehicle. The film immediately offers insight into what's happening, so it’s clear from the beginning how things will unfold as Kennedy consistently misunderstands events and experiences misfortune at every turn. It seems that anything that could possibly go wrong does happen to him. With law enforcement believing he might be spying on people and practically everyone participating in a chaotic chase involving a basket containing something, the story leads to a fairly exciting ending. While the plot isn't particularly inventive, it perhaps hints that a bit more faith between spouses wouldn’t hurt anyone.
