The film could have been stronger if it hadn’t taken roughly half its running time before introducing the character whose name is in the title—a person who lacks any real sense of threat, resembling more a soggy piece of lettuce than a formidable presence. What follows involves a team of explorers beginning their journey in India to locate "Greg" (Bruce Edwards) at the request of "Jean" (Patricia Morison) and her companion, the "Colonel" (John Miljan). They quickly decide that his caravan may have been targeted by the notorious "Zita" (Amira Moustafa), prompting them to prepare their insect netting and venture into the jungle. After a lengthy sequence featuring real animal footage, we’re drawn into a fairly unremarkable romantic entanglement between the Queen, "Jean," and a man seemingly happy to enjoy both sides of a relationship—figuratively speaking, naturally. This unfolds against a backdrop of racial stereotypes that even at the time must have been uncomfortable, as the writing is simply embarrassing. Miljan assumes something of a narrator’s position, which doesn't improve the story's momentum, particularly when he offers commentary on the wildlife in a style reminiscent of Disney's Winston Hibbler. There isn’t any genuine danger, very little suspense, and some performances that are as stiff as the scenery, all contributing to an hour that fails to live up to the potential suggested by its title and isn't worth the time, I’m afraid.
