This film possesses a genuine warmth and clearly aims to do good. I found 'Amy' to be quite enjoyable. It contains several poignant scenes mixed with some unexpected moments; one scene, in particular, was startling, more so than anything I’ve seen from Disney previously. These jarring instances appear within the narrative, which centers on children who are both deaf and blind, as well as incorporating themes of female empowerment. The filmmakers manage to weave these elements together effectively. Jenny Agutter delivers an excellent performance as the central character; I felt invested in her story and she successfully conveyed the necessary compassion and appeal that the role demands. Otto Rechenberg, one of several actors who are deaf or blind, is also very good. Generally speaking, all of the principal performers do commendable work. It's a pleasant and uplifting experience. I recommend seeing it.
