A not particularly bright instructor at an unpleasant school finds herself caught up in a dangerous situation when she sees a criminal commit a killing. She decides against reporting the incident to law enforcement, seemingly following her boyfriend’s suggestion. Subsequently, she puts her students in harm's way, though one student—a Black boy who appears remarkably perceptive—proves helpful. Drawing on elements reminiscent of _Menace II Society_, director Harry Winer presents a compelling story about the consequences of foolishness. It also offers a pointed commentary on racial dynamics, portraying white characters as ineffective, Hispanics as involved in drug trafficking or slightly more aggressive forms of it, and Black individuals as rescuing those white people from trouble. The film also features Alison Brie wearing very short shorts, which certainly earns it a perfect score: ten out of ten.
