I first encountered this film while I was still in college and really enjoyed it back then. However, looking at it now, Premonition feels a lot like a story about the people who work at Weekly World News—those reporters—as they cover a case, only with elements of Highlander thrown into the mix. It seems likely that the initial idea for the movie was something along the lines of "What if Weekly World News actually existed? What would journalists be like in that scenario?"—similar to the character Kolchak. Ultimately, it's simply a brief, amusing, and unusual film made with a distinct aesthetic from the nineties, which really needs to be updated now. And truthfully, that’s what all movies should strive for: entertainment.
