The film *Zaman - The Man from the Reeds* creates a mixed impression. While I found myself appreciating certain aspects, there simply isn't enough narrative substance to sustain a feature-length movie, and consequently, it feels somewhat restrained in its pacing. However, it’s also genuinely moving, and the final scene has a real emotional impact. Sami Kaftan delivers a likable performance as the lead; I felt invested in his character and what his family was going through. The other actors don't have many opportunities to make a strong impression, which is understandable given the story’s focus, though Shada Salim manages to stand out a little behind Kaftan. I feel it just barely earns its place as something worthwhile. The underlying sincerity present throughout helps keep it engaging enough to see through to the end.
