This A.C. Lyles Western, which concludes with a courtroom scene, centers on events unfolding in a Kansas town. Dale Robertson portrays a judge arriving to oversee a murder trial concerning the offspring of a powerful landowner, played by John Agar and Barton MacLane. Yvonne De Carlo appears as a saloon worker, Lon Chaney Jr. takes on the role of an acquaintance of the defendant, and Bruce Cabot is cast as a hired assailant. “Law of the Lawless,” released in 1964, represents one of over a dozen lesser Westerns produced by A.C. Lyles during the mid-1960s. These films consistently featured actors who had previously enjoyed greater prominence and were filmed within a tight schedule of ten to fourteen days. The groups assembled for these productions demonstrated skill and worked effectively. Consequently, while it doesn’t offer much in terms of artistic value, the film is suitable enough if you're looking for a conventional Western set primarily in a town. De Carlo was visually striking and this marked her final movie before dedicating herself to “The Munsters” for several years. The runtime is one hour and twenty-seven minutes; filming occurred at Iverson Ranch & Paramount Studios, Los Angeles. GRADE: B-/C+
