Franco (played by Andrea Sciré), whose father works as a diplomat, possesses a sophisticated upbringing when he joins his new school and rapidly forms a bond with Mario (Geronimo Meynier). His residence in an upscale hotel initially creates some awkwardness for Mario’s family, but they quickly become the best of friends, engaging in numerous escapades. An unforeseen challenge arises when both boys find themselves competing against each other in a race – a situation where only one can emerge victorious. What follows is something I believe many people will recognize: the difficulties inherent in sustaining a close friendship, which feels almost compulsive. The two young actors deliver convincing performances and present an appealing portrayal of a friendship marked by moments of silliness and naiveté. Thankfully, the adult characters are supportive as well, skillfully allowing their sons to navigate their own issues while providing guidance when needed. The film also highlights the reactions of other students who, with differing levels of malice, feel resentment toward what they lack. They view the boys’ relationship as something to be destroyed rather than appreciated once a problem surfaces. It's often amusing and ultimately a cheerfully paced and lively depiction of an uncomplicated friendship that one hopes will last.
