Peter Lorre is once more delivering a strong performance as the central detective. This installment finds him in Egypt, attempting to stop a clever scheme intended to disrupt operations on the Suez Canal—a plan that could create tension between the French Navy and the Royal Navy potentially leading to WWII! While it might not be among the strongest "Moto" tales, and feels somewhat improbable, the familiar presence of his questionable double along with George Sanders ("Norvel"), John Carradine ("Danforth") and the consistently dependable EE Clive contribute some substance to this entertaining, though frivolous, spy story.
