It’s true that the reasoning isn't exactly progressive or based in science, but the presentation of this Hindu creation myth is visually appealing. The film shows God bringing animals, plants, and people into existence, only to discover he’s run out of resources for creating a female counterpart. He then assembles some lovely and refined elements to fashion a companion for man. However, after just seven days, the man asks that she be returned. Apparently, she talks incessantly! God complies, but soon the man misses her and wants her back again. God grants this request too; however, when the man reaches his limit and wishes to be rid of her, God tells them both to stop complaining and simply carry on. While it does move at a somewhat leisurely pace, there's some really lovely and detailed dancing, and the costumes are exceptionally well-designed. I think it’s worth seeing.
