SJCArmstrong on AC/DC: Live '77 At The Hippodrome Golders Green London

· Dec 29, 2019

The appearance was initially intended to feature The Sensational Alex Harvey Band, but their sudden withdrawal just two days before led to AC/DC being brought in as a substitute. Captured during the tail end of their UK tour, the band perform exceptionally well; both Bon Scott and Angus Young showcase abilities that would later contribute to AC/DC's immense success. While portions were included on the subsequent Plug Me In video compilation, I consider this to be the finest surviving live recording from the Bon Scott period, and a worthwhile addition for serious fans. Although commercially distributed and exclusively in Japan, this DVD is considered a semi-official release, as it wasn’t sanctioned by either the band or Sony. Consequently, the planned US distribution for February 2003 was abandoned. Copies that are not authentic have appeared on the market.
