This is a visually impressive action adventure boasting incredible fight choreography and some truly spectacular stunts—easily among the most extreme ever captured in Hong Kong cinema. It’s strange that this film remains so little-known, given its quality and relatively wide distribution; it deserves considerably more recognition. Similar to Ringo Lam's excellent BURNING PARADISE, one wonders if MIRAGE would have gained wider popularity with a cast featuring more familiar faces. I also can’t understand why Pasha Romani didn’t achieve major stardom as an action heroine. She is beautiful, possesses undeniable charm, and demonstrates respectable fighting abilities.
