I recall initially enjoying this film when I saw it on television during the 1990s, but upon revisiting it recently, I didn't find it as amusing. It seems tastes evolve over time. The premise was enjoyable, although the dialogue felt weak; it appeared to be a situation where the concept itself was stronger than the execution. Nevertheless, the narrative was well-constructed. What stood out to me most was the character work—they managed to portray Sherlock Holmes as an authentic individual with recognizable feelings and emotional depth.
