Tommy Wilhelm’s disappointment and resentment toward his circumstances really pull you into the narrative, making it quite engaging. Dr. Tamkin stands out too; he's a good friend with plenty of notions. However, I thought the performances from many of the other actors were reminiscent of a high school production. Robin Williams and Jerry Stiller, to a lesser extent, are essential in keeping the movie afloat, as you’re left wanting some kind of positive outcome for a life that has clearly taken a wrong turn.
