Broken Lizard’s initial attempt at making a movie, _Puddle Cruiser_, is worthwhile even if it came before their more celebrated film, _Super Troopers_. While not as funny as their later works, the characters of Matt and Grogan offer glimpses of the group's signature comedic style. The film largely adheres to the conventions of a standard 90s teen movie—a mix of humor, romance, some elements of growing up, and the inevitable fight scene—and this structure proves effective, though not exceptionally so. It contained aspects that I found enjoyable, but ultimately didn’t fully gel together. _Final rating:★★½_
