It's a pretty good film detailing a scheme involving staged car accidents, presented with the cooperation of the Los Angeles Police Department. The story centers on individuals who fabricate collisions to collect insurance payouts, revealing a complex system where those involved grant legal power of attorney so their lawyers can negotiate settlements with insurers eager to bypass lengthy court battles. “Beacher” (Edwin Maxwell) manages the operation, taking the bulk of the money and distributing shares to both the supposed injured parties and those playing the role of witnesses. As the total amount fraudulently obtained nears $100,000, law enforcement begins to suspect foul play and plants an undercover officer (George Lynn) within the group with the goal of gathering evidence. The outcome is predictable, but the narrative illustrates a disturbing look at the lengths people will go to for financial gain. While there’s plenty of deception and manipulation, it also involves participants enduring physical harm to appear authentic when emergency services arrive. A cheese grater plays a notable role! The film's quality is serviceable, and predictably, a clear message is delivered at the conclusion.
