The film doesn’t resemble “Dr. Moreau” at all; it’s something else entirely. The central figure isn't a monster of that type, but rather Bruce Bennett, who also wrote and stars as "Charlie," a man wielding a whip and dominating his isolated tropical island with dictatorial authority. He wants to pursue dancer "Glory La Verne" (Tania Velia), but she rejects him, and when his advances become more insistent, she joins forces with his assistant, “David” (Robert Bray), to try and curb his harsh actions. Bennett initially portrays his character's madness convincingly – a twisted sort of madman with an authoritarian nature; however, once that’s fully established, the other performers struggle to keep up with his imposing presence, and the narrative descends into a rather dull, low-budget soap opera lacking any real distinction or worth, stretching out for seventy-five minutes. While there are some appealing shots showcasing their beautiful setting (which turns out to be the Florida Keys), beyond that, it mainly serves as an opportunity for Bennett to have his spotlight before everything simply fades away.
